Gates Report Says Small High Schools Perform Better; Bloomberg Favors Them

By Lisa M. Collins

For years the city of New York’s DOE has been splitting up big high schools into smaller schools, often housed together in one big building. A new report by the Gates Foundation indicates that small high schools outperform their larger counterparts, although a large percentage of large high schools perform well.
