French imports, Robin Des Bois

By Lisa M. Collins

Mother Mary, little devils, old posters, a crocodile skin and old signs---it's said the toilet was from a French castle, until someone bought it.

There’s always something nice to look at while  you sip your beer or wine at Robin des Bois, on Smith Street. The owner, Bernard, is an antiques dealer who’s outfitted many a French bistro in Manhattan, as well as designing the interior for Bar Tabac.

It’s a lovely place, worth a visit, always good food. The back garden is very quaint and lovely.

Local photographer Johannes Kroemer, of Carroll Gardens, took the photos of Robin des Bois. Johannes’ work is pretty amazing. He photographs extreme skiing and mountain sports, among many other things. Check out his site.
