EPA swims in the Gowanus Canal

Yes, it’s true, underwater archeologists are poking around the Gowanus Canal to determine if there are historically-significant structures that need to be assessed, documented or preserved. EPA Archeologist John Vetter talked to The Brooklyn Paper about the work. Apparently, they haven’t yet found any bodies or other items of interest in the canal, at least that Vetter let on to.
