Two Residents Capture Damage in Crown Heights

At 9 a.m. this morning, Hurricane Irene hit ground for the third time. It dropped on Long Island and New York City as a tropical storm with 65 mph winds. The storm surge reached four feet at Battery Park City in Manhattan, topping its floodwalls in several locations. MTA is still down until further notice. The MTA posted pictures of destruction. Most of the pictures were taken in Harlem, some in East Brooklyn, but none that I’ve found in our neighborhoods. Hurricane Irene’s lasting effects will be flooding. We’re working on getting pictures of the aftermath. We’re interested… what is your personal hurricane story?
