Luckily Hurricane Irene lost her steam before hitting New York City. The eye hit Coney Island Sunday morning but by then, the storm was greatly reduced in strength. But still, wind gusts from Irene, now a Tropical Storm, are still coming around. There is some flooding and some trees down but we kept power.
Tourists and residents are starting to peep out, and the police are asking them to go back inside.
Reports on CNN say 11 people died in Irene down South before the storm hit New York.
