Mother’s Day Sunday

By Lisa M. Collins

Spring is here. Time to buy Mother's Day cards.

Mother’s Day is coming, on Sunday. Don’t forget to order flowers, buy cards, all that good stuff. If your mom was no good, forget about it. And if your dad did everything, get him a Mother’s Day gift. Why not. Men, if your woman is a mom who toils, don’t leave this for the last minute.┬áHere’s our South Brooklyn Post picks for getting that perfect gift:

Cards: Fork + Pencil, at Court and Warren, has fantastic cards, many handmade. They also have a great selection of antiques and housewares. Get mom a China bowl for fruit, or a really cool antique ring, or a piece of art. Prices are great and a percentage of all profits goes to charity.

Cards: Classic Impressions on Court St. This store doesn’t look like much from the sidewalk. But inside you will find an edited, concise selection of really great cards, artful, interesting, tasteful, as well as an assortment of gifts. This is a really great shop, and great prices.

Stuff women love: Organic and rare face creams and serums from Shen Beauty, at 315 Court near Sackett. Some items in this shop are very exclusive and expensive, but others are very reasonable. You’ll find bath salts and body lotions, Oprah’s favorite candles and all sorts of stuff that women go nuts for.

Jewelry, clothing and more: Howabout a gift certificate from Lily, on Court, or Smith and Butler, which has some exquisite, unique jewelry.
