It’s all over the news–there are three companies vying for the contract to make NYC’s so-called “Taxi of Tomorrow,” the next generation of city cab. One of the firms hoping to get the contract, Karsan, a Turkish firm, says if it gets the deal it will produce the cabs in Red Hook. City leaders of course like this, cause it’ll create all kind of jobs.
Karsan’s proposal was also the most popular design. It’s a hybrid, with large skylight, and wheelchair-accessible (most cabs are not handicapped accessible).
A photo gallery of the proposed cab can be found on Autoblog.
