Should we scream?

By Lisa M. Collins

A friend of mine and I recently talked about screaming and yelling at our kids. She’s got two little ones, and says she was finding herself screaming at them when they were misbehaving. She grew up in a screaming household and didn’t much care for it. She decided to go on a “screaming hiatus,” and found that it was working. She simply decided not to scream anymore, and four days in, was quite enjoying it.

I too went through a period where I allowed myself to holler at my little one, and I know moms with multiple kids who simply blow their top every once in a while.

I found this good article that runs through the whole thing, including tips to avoid screaming and why it doesn’t work.
