Answering a domestic violence call, from a woman who said her boyfriend was going to kill her, Officer Alain Schaberger, 42, was killed when he was shoved over a 9-foot-high railing by a 42-year old suspect, George Villanueva. The officer hit his head on the cement and broke his neck.

Schaberger was a member of the 84th Precinct, which covers Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo.
