Nightwood Design, a company that bills itself as “reincarnated furniture, design and home,” and which makes really cool, modern and rustic wooden furniture, is hosting an ongoing pop-up show featuring local designers and artists. The shopping bazaar is daily through Dec. 14.
The shop is located at 189 Schermerhorn St. in downtown Brooklyn, at the Be@Schermerhorn building. The entrance is at the back of the building around the block on Livingston St. between Hoyt and Smith. The shop is open from noon to 7 p.m. on weekdays.
The shop is displaying Brooklyn designers, including light fixtures from Fiyel Levent and Daniel Rossi from Organic Light Sculptures, photography from Caitlin Teal Price and Sophie Morner, and art from Jess Rotter.
This weekend, Sat. and Sun., Dec. 11 and 12, from noon to 6 p.m., the designers are holding a holiday gift fair. I learned about the event at a great blog called Brooklyn Based. The fair will feature local designers, artists and food vendors. Sounds like a good mix of offerengs, including women’s wear by Keller, hand gilded blocks and suitcases by Cabin 7 and handmade bags by Layerxlayer.
