Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz is retrieving his Brooklyn loot from outer space. Back in 2008, Markowitz gave a Brooklyn pin to NASA Astronaut Garrett Reisman, who carried the pin 4.8 million miles into space on an 11-day mission on Space Shuttle Atlantis. Reisman, who has family in Brooklyn, but grew up in New Jersey, took pictures of Brooklyn from space, and will give the pin and pictures to Markowitz in a special ceremony at Borough Hall, in downtown Brooklyn.
The formalities will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 14.
