Sat. and Sun, Nov. 27 and 28, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Kids prepare for winter 19th century style, in the program, “Winter on a Flatbush Farm,” at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park (next to the zoo and carousel). Your kids will get a taste for what winter was like during the 1800s on the farms of Flatbush. They’ll start a patchwork quilt, make candles and learn to preserve food sans refrigerators. While they are hard at work and busy hanging out with other kids, they can see flax spun into thread and will be treated to authentic Dutch deserts taken from a Lefferts family recipe.
On Sunday, St. Nicolas will visit at 3pm.
