Trains in some cases are running slowly, but all the lines are now back up, including, lastly, the G, the only train that doesn’t run through Manhattan, but for which use has greatly increased with Brooklyn’s popularity boom. Thought for the day: Did sea water, albeit infused with our human detritus and droppings of various sorts, clean out the subway system downtown, wash it free of that very old smell of urine that can sometimes greet you on the morning commute when you are least likely to be ready for it? Any olfactory observations to share, dear reader?
