New York Magazine had a great feature back around Hurricane Irene on how that storm could affect the Gowanus Canal. Today, the magazine has the feature updated for how much damage Hurricane Sandy could inflict. Apparently, the ocean is already surging into the canal, which, of course, pushes the canal’s toxic muck and human excrement up onto the streets. So don’t go wading around! Stay inside.
