The LIU Brooklyn men’s basketball team captured its second straight Northeast Conference championship with a 90-73 victory over Robert Morris in front of a raucous sellout crowd at the Wellness Center in downtown Brooklyn. Spike Lee was in attendance to cheer on the team, and an ally-oop dunk by Julian Boyd made ESPN’s play of the day.
Four Blackbirds scored in double figures, led by 21 points from junior C.J. Garner. LIU (25-8) claimed a berth into the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
Congrats Blackbirds! Watch a great video rundown of the game.
