Donate to Injured Vets

By Lisa M. Collins

Brain injuries and psychological problems have been the most devastating impacts on soldiers from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Last year, private donations to The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) resulted in the construction of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, a 72,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art research, diagnosis and treatment center for military service members diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Psychological Health Conditions, in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Center of Excellence uses video conferencing equipment so that soldiers can sometimes be seen by doctors in the comfort of their homes scattered across the nation, after their initial treatments. The center provides cutting-edge medical care and comprehensive training and education to patients, providers and families.
