In 2006, Prince made a surprise appearance at Saxaphone legend Maceo Parker’s Celebrate Brooklyn show. Thursday, May 12, at 7 p.m., the funk maestro will headline a night of musical entertainment on the grassy law of Pier 1, overlooking the New York harbor and Manhattan. It’s going to be a great night.
Parker has played with James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins. He’ll play Thursday with a funk orchestra, along with DJ Spinna, who’s worked with Mos Def.
