South Brooklyn Post was quoted today in a amNewYork story about lying about your address to get into public school, referring to a SBP article back in 2011 when the first kindergarten wait-list hit Carroll Gardens’ P.S. 58 Elementary School, and Cobble Hill’s PS 29 Elementary School. So far, no zoned kindergartners have been turned away from either school but parents’ are nervously cautious that day will arrive, as it has in Manhattan.
The amNewYork story, by Cobble Hill writer Liza Featherstone, suggests that this practice is a sad refection of how inequitable our school system is. True!
Very cool, thanks Liza!
