Bomb Scare at PS 58

By Lisa M. Collins

Administrators at Public School 58 Elementary School, The Carroll School, evacuated all children and teachers on Thursday after a prankster called the school and said there was a bomb in the building.

The perpetrator then called back, and said the call was a hoax.

The children were quickly evacuated as a precaution, and were back in the school by noon when the call was confirmed as a prank.

A police source told South Brooklyn Post that NYPD emergency services responded to the school and conducted a thorough search of the building. Nothing was found, and the bomb unit determined it was safe for the children to return.

There is an investigation underway to determine who made the call.

Stay tuned as more information is released.

Any update on this? The school isn’t giving any information.

Really sad that the parents of students at PS 58 get more information off of a blog than from their children’s school. Thank you for posting.
