Restore Red Hook

Much of Red Hook was without flood insurance, as it was so expensive and hard to get, and so many businesses there—wonderful restaurants, bars, bakeries and production studios—were destroyed, such as Baked, one of the hottest bakeries in Brooklyn. Businesses there have formed a group to try to raise money to bring back what was lost. To find out more or to donate, visit

Sort of amazingly, on Wednesday, at The Bell House in conjunction with theĀ Jalopy Theater in Red Hook (walk over the foot bridge at the end of 1st Place/Summit Street and take a left on Columbia, and viola, you are there.), Roseanne Cash is headlining a Red Hook benefit show, starting at 7 p.m.
