Occupy Sandy

By Lisa M. Collins

Regardless your politics, Occupy Sandy has been doing a bang-up job getting supplies and help to areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Check out their website and get twitter alerts on where to go and what to do. If you’ve got a truck, they are in big need, as they’ve got piles of supplies they’re sending out in small batches via cars, says Kelly Guenther, a Brooklyn photographer who is helping organize.

Right now, the Occupy Sandy folks have piles of supplies at the St. Luke’s and St. Matthew Church at 520 Clinton, between Atlantic and Fulton, and they’re sending people on delivery runs to the Rockaways and Coney Island.

Just show up — especially if you have a truck or car. Call ahead if possible if you have a truck so they can get prepared to fill you up.
