By Lisa M. Collins

Language and Laughter Studio children to perform two short plays at Invisible Dog Art Gallery: Thursday
Anonyme and Nos Cousinailles

When: THURSDAY JUNE 7 at 6.30PM

Where: The INVISIBLE DOG51 Bergen Street

Anonyme and Nos Cousinailles are two ten minutes French plays inspired by the theme Retrouvailles (Reunion), featuring students from the Language and Laughter Studio, a language school in Boerum Hill that teaches French and Spanish through theater and music.

Both plays – to be performed by children ages 9 to 11 — were awarded at the Lycée Français of New York’s annual festival “Première Scène” on March 2012. “Nos Cousinailles” won the “Grand Prize” and “Anonyme” the “Prize of originality” and “Best Interpretation Prize for a francophone actress.”

The short stage productions celebrate the power of theater, uniting American, French, Russian and German children beyond differences of culture and language, while combining comic and absurd situations.

Both plays are written and directed by Stéphanie Fribourg, the artistic director of “L’Oiseau Bleu Theater Company www.loiseaubleutheater.org
