A mother and father visiting New York from Washington, D.C. watched in horror as their deaf 5-year-old son darted between parked cars onto Hicks Street at Amity around 5 p.m. Saturday, and was hit by a yellow cab. The boy is clinging to life and is said to be brain-dead.
The family was walking from their hotel to the Brooklyn Bridge. The New York Daily News interviewed the bereft parents.Â
Also very disraught is the staff at LICH, which first treated the boy.Â
We pray for the child and his parents.
