One of many lovely views from Dumbo, NYC's 4th most expensive hood

New York City changes so fast it can be hard to keep up. Seems like only yesterday cabbies in downtown Manhattan would swear up and down there was no such thing as Dumbo, and unless you had exact driving directions, you were up a creek. Those days are gone. According to a report this week in Property Shark, Dumbo is the 4th most expensive neighborhood in New York City, ranking far above the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, West Village and Chelsea, with a median home sale price of $1.075 million.
Boerum Hill, while it struggles with more crime than the rest of “Bococa,” which we call South Brooklyn, came in 10th, with a median home sale price of $800,000. Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens didn’t make it onto the list.
