Don’t miss the Carroll Park Kids Concert Series. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 4 p.m., featuring Karen K and the Jitterbugs. Time Out New York Kids calls the concerts the “best free and fun thing to do in NYC with kids.”

Revived in 2008 by local mom Simmi Degnemark and her dedicated team of volunteers, the Carroll Park Kids Concert Series has grown in size and scope each year since and has become a beloved summer mainstay for the families of the Bococa community and New York City at large.

Karen K has quickly become one of Brooklyn’s favorite children’s musicians.  Her new album, Pancakes for Dinner, features toe-tapping, humorous, and often poignant get-stuck-in-your-head songs that kids and adults adore.  Karen K & the Jitterbugs have played all over Brooklyn, performing original music and the great timeless tunes Karen features in her weekly Jitterbugs classes for kids up to age 5.   Karen K & the Jitterbugs and Pancakes for Dinner are sure to be enjoyed by fans of Laurie Berkner, Barry Louis Polisar and even Sesame Street.  The Jitterbugs are: Bill McGarvey, Mike Tichey, Ari Huff, Laura Posey and Stephen Hund.
