For about eight minutes on Wednesday, around 6:40 p.m., South Brooklyn was hit with some crazy heavy rain followed by a hail storm that pummeled a movie crew on scene at Sam’s pizza on Court Street. The crew was working on an untitled 70s rock-n-roll feature film by Emmy-award winning TV writer David Chase, who created the Sopranos.
Then at about 8 p.m., lightning lit up the sky and a loud, strong boom shook the ground, unnerving some neighbors, politicians and activists gathered at PS58 for the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association meeting.
