Sunday, March 13, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Local mom Karen Connell and her powerhouse of an all-things-parenting-in-NYC blog, A Child Grows in Brooklyn, is hosting a baby expo for Brooklyn Parents, in the penthouses of downtown Brooklyn’s Toren building at 150 Myrtle Avenue.
At the expo, moms can attend mini-workshops, demonstrations, seminars or just relax in the nursing lounge, where they can savor catering by Brooklyn Fare.
There will be gear, clothes and furniture on sale, manicures and blow-outs. Hands-on activities include testing carriers, learning CPR, learning to make baby food and install a car seat. Topics for discussion by panels include setting good sleep habits, school zoning and how to select a doula and/or nanny.
Activities for babies and children include Tummy Time, Baby Yoga, first lock cuts, haircuts, food tastings and more.
It’s like an extravaganza for moms ripping their hair out, dying to leave the house.
