All you struggling artists out there, here’s your chance to show up in The New York Times. The Invisible Dog Gallery, at 51 Bergen, is holding open submissions for its “Irrational Exuberance” show, to take place April 30 to May 8. The show is part of Recession Art, a New York City arts organization devoted to emerging artists that shows throughout the city.
Both the gallery and the Recession Art program have shown up in lots of media, including several stories in The New York Times.
The gallery is accepting work in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, performance, installation, video and short film. The gallery will exhibit accepted artists for a week.
Video artists and filmmakers will receive one or more screenings, and performance artists will work out a schedule with the gallery staff.
The deadline for entries is Monday Feb. 7. The submission fee is $20. Artists will be notified of acceptance by the end of February.
