Residents of Red Hook are up in arms about a proposal from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to ship toxic mud dredged from the Gowanus Canal to the waterfront, where it will be treated and possibly stored.
Others in the industrial community are saying that the jobs that could be created by the project are needed.
