Some of the best and hottest bluegrass musicians anywhere will be performing on the edge of the Gowanus in February. World-famous bluegrass band, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, featuring world-champ fiddler Michael Cleveland, will perform at Southpaw, in Park Slope, on Sunday, Feb. 19, preceded by performances by Brooklyn bluegrass bands The Birdhive Boys and Six Deadly Venoms. Perhaps you’ve heard the news that Southpaw is closing.. this could be one of the last shows.
This’ll be a great show… members of The Birdhive Boys and Six Deadly Venoms performed at the South Brooklyn Post party at Invisible Dog Art Gallery in December, and they are some talented pickers, sure to delight.
Cleveland, a nine-time International Bluegrass Music Association Fiddle Player of the Year, and his band have quickly become known as one of the most phenomenal attractions in bluegrass.
The Birdhive Boys will start at 8 p.m., followed by Six Deadly Venoms at 9 p.m. and Flamekeeper at 10 p.m.
Advance tickets are available for $20 or buy at the door for $25. Call 347-422-7604 or visit Southpaw website for tickets.
