Labor Day Violence

Murder rates are still decreased and relatively low in New York City, down two percent this year over last year and precipitously low compared to ten years ago. But Labor Day weekend saw a spike in shootings, many in and around the West Indian American Parade in Crown Heights. The New York Times reports on the mayhem and concern from the city’s top brass.
