Follow the Line to School
By Laura Ljungkvist

Sun., Aug. 21: Kids book reading and signing by Laura Ljungkvist at the powerHouse Arena.

Get ready for the new school year with Laura Ljunkvist. She stops by the Arena for a reading of her newest installment in her Follow the Line series and leads a special one-line drawing workshop.

About Follow the Line to School

Fresh pencils and crisp notebooks are just around the corner—it’s almost “Back to School” time! Before climbing on the big yellow bus, children will find everything they need to be prepared in Follow the Line to School, the latest in the series by renowned author/illustrator Laura Ljungkvist. Ljungkvist’s previous Follow the Line books have all received rave reviews, and the newest adventure is sure to follow in their footsteps!

Follow the line through the school day, from saying hello to your friends through lessons in subjects including math, science, and reading, and through lunch, recess, and show and tell. And of course an artist like Ljungkvist would never forget to include art class, too. Children can trace the line with their fingers that continuously runs from the front cover of this book through every spread all the way to the back cover.

Each scene includes questions meant to engage the child and get him or her excited about starting the school year, whether for the first time or not. Along the way they’ll practice counting and sorting, identifying numbers and colors, and even what to feed the class pet. The interactive text provides perfect practice for the fundamentals kids need in time for school .
