Buschenshank Building Sells

By Lisa M. Collins

Buschenshank Beer ImageCrain’s is calling him the “bankruptcy barron,” in a story reporting that James McGown, owner of  Buschenshank bar on Court Street, as well as the former South Brooklyn Pizza and PJ Hanley’s, further down on Court, has sold the buildings holding those establishments and a handful of others for a whopping $22 million.

A New York real estate investor bought 320 Court, which houses Buschenshank, and is quoted as saying he’s not sure if he’ll keep open or close the bar. The property auction was part of McGown’s largest bankruptcy to date — his seventh. He reportedly also used to own a “sex cave” in Tribeca, that turned up in some wild stories in The New York Daily News.
