A local mom from P.S. 58 was crossing the very busy pedestrian thoroughfare of Court Street at Carroll around 12:45 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a car making a right turn from Carroll Street onto Court.
She was thrown to the ground and broke a few bones in her foot. She is on crutches, but she is OK, a friend told South Brooklyn Post.
The woman was walking by herself after a yoga class at Prana Yoga, on Carroll, and was in the middle of the street when she was hit. She had the green light/walking signal, said the woman, who did not want to be named. She said she saw the car coming “but figured it would stop since I was crossing,” she said in an email.
The man driving apparently “didn’t see me,” she said. He told the police that he did not see her crossing, she said.
