I’m writing from Turnstile Tours. Thank you so very much for letting people know about our tours of the Brooklyn Navy Yard! There is a slight correction to the information above. All tours begin and end at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92, which is located at the intersection of Carlton and Flushing Avenues, and advance purchase of tickets is highly recommended as tours do sell out. Also, the bicycle tours focus mostly on the theme of sustainability (rather than history), are $24/person for the public tour, and take place 1-2 times per month in the warmer months between 12 and 2PM. We also offer a variety of other tours, including an Overview Tour that uses a bus to get from place to place (the Yard is 300 acres), but that provides opportunities to get off the bus for a closer look at various stops, including the historic 1851 dry dock, the 19th century hospital campus, and other interesting locations. That tour is offered every Saturday and Sunday from 2:30-4:30PM and includes content about the past, present, and future. There are several other tours we offer at the Yard, including a World War II-themed tour on the first Sunday of every month, Yard Inspectors Family Tour once per month, as well as special tours there.
