Ever sat in Boco Lupo on Warren and Henry and looked out their huge glass windows to see a flock of birds making a swoop through the air, back and forth to their corner building there?
Pigeon racing in Brooklyn has been a longtime pass-time. The pigeons in these photos were at Degraw and Smith street. Here’s a great video from the Brooklyn Review, sponsored by BRIC Arts | Media, on Youtube, about Brooklyn pigeon racing.
And read about a local longtime enthusiast from Carroll Gardens at South Brooklyn Net. Here’s a piece in The New Yorker about pigeon lover Mike Tyson, who’s got a new show on Animal Planet about the therapeutic practice of racing homer pigeons.
