The Creators Project, a group that brings together music top acts and digital innovators for edgy, fantastic shows, last year put on a show at Milk Studios, showcasing works and performances by M.I.A., Interpol, Spike Jonze, Radical Friend, and Nick Zinner.
This year, after stops at Coachella, Lyon, Paris, São Paulo, Seoul and Beijing, the group heads back to NYC to feature a “psycho-opera” by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. As she has described it, the opera is “an assault on the tragic joys of youth.”
Directed by Adam Rapp, the work will be produced by The Studio, a multimillion-dollar global studio launched this year by The Creators Project that produces and distributes works from artists representing a cross-section of creative disciplines. The premiere will take place at the critically acclaimed St. Ann’s Warehouse.
