Local resident and NYC Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has launched a campaign to protest the 4,100 teachers who may get laid off this summer by Mayor Mike Bloomberg. de Blasio, who’s children attend public school, is urging parents to sign his petition and write letters to the city Department of Education, and to make short videos featuring great teachers.
