Summer Camp at NY Aquarium

Register Now: This summer, the New York Aquarium is offering week long camps for children, ages 6 to 12. Campers will engage in special investigations, interactive games, creative projects, animal guests and much more. Every day will be a different adventure.

Aquatic Adventurers

Mon. to Fri., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., except Session A, which runs to 3 p.m.

For children ages 6 to 8; must be 6 years old by the first day of camp

This weeklong camp will focus on exploring the wonders of the aquatic environment and aquatic animals. Crafts, hands to on activities, puppets, and live animals will make learning fun.

Aquatic Adventurers will:

  1. Observe animals and how they live.
  2. Explore the Aquarium’s exhibits and go behind the scenes.
  3. Discover some unique characteristics of marine animals through fun activities.

Session A: July 5th to July 8, 2011*

Session B: July 25, 2010 to July 29, 2011
Session C: August 15 to August 19, 2011

*Note: this is a Tuesday to Friday camp due to the holiday, with hours to make up the extra day.

Fees per session: $275; $250 for members

Marine Explorers

Session A: July 11 to July 15
Session B: Aug. 1 to Aug. 5
Session C: Aug. 22 to Aug. 26

Mon. to Fri., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For children ages 9 to 12; must be 9 years old by the first day of camp

During this weeklong adventure geared towards our future marine explorers, we’ll explore the fascinating world of ocean life through hands to on science activities and engaging animal encounters.

Marine Explorers will:

  1. Meet our animals up close and personal.
  2. Observe animal behavior and discover the characteristics that help them survive.
  3. Take an Insider’s Tour to see what it would be like to be an animal keeper.

Fees per session: $275; $250 for members

Other Information

Food: Campers must bring their own lunches, snacks, and beverages (refrigeration available).

Registration: Advanced registration is required for all programs. Registration is open NOW. Space is limited. Registration requests will be accepted via the online request form or mail if you decide to print the form. No drop to in or phone registrations will be accepted. To register, please click here.

Health Forms: All campers must submit a completed and signed medical form and vaccination record by the first days of camp. Your child will not be admitted into the camp without the completed and signed form. A copy of this form is will be included in your confirmation package once your payment is received. Alternatively, you can click here to download a copy and send it to us via fax (718.265.3451) or mail to The New York Aquarium, Education Department to Summer Camp, Surf Avenue at West 8th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11224. Tip: Some medical offices take up to 2 weeks to complete these health forms. Submit the health form to your child’s doctor as soon as possible.

Release Form: Parents or guardians must complete the online Release Form and submit by the first day of camp. Be sure to note one to two guardians that will be permitted to pick up your child at the end of camp. Click here to fill out the form.
