Brooklyn Bridge Park rocked South Brooklyn with its Pier 6 playground (beloved by the 5- to 9-year-old set) last summer at the end of Atlantic Avenue. Now, the park is expanding.
By this summer, three sand volleyball courts, two grassy lawns, pathways and planted areas for picnics will debut, as will a raised concession area for drinks, food and skyline viewing. As the weather warms in the coming weeks, the pier landscaping and plantings will be installed. The restroom will be finished with wood cladding.
