Sat., Feb. 5, noon to 3p.m.: BRIC Arts|Media|Bklyn presents a free family day: “Miniature Museums: Collage Your Comforts” at the BRIC Rotunda in Brooklyn Heights. Kids and adults will collage their own miniature museum of objects with a variety of material, including small cardboard mini-frames, metallic and other decorative papers, drawing materials, shaped beads, flowers, fabrics, magazines and more.
Participants are welcome to bring photographs or images to include in their miniature museums.
Artist Educator Angela Earley will lead visitors on this art-making adventure inspired by work in the current exhibition, Neo-nomads: What travels with you? (Jan 20 – February 26). Neo-nomads features the work of seven contemporary artists who reflect on the nature of home, and the intangible objects, experiences, and memories that constitute our sense of home.
