Tickets are mostly sold out for My Last Play, by Ed Schmidt, though seats are available for the Jan. 23 performance. After 32 years as a struggling playwright, Schmidt is walking away from the theater and, in the process, giving away all of his 2000+ theater books, one book at a time. At the end of the evening, each audience member walks out with a book from his shelves. The run of the play ends when the bookshelves are bare. To see what books have already gone, click here. My Last Play is performed in Schmidt’s Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, apartment, on Fourth Place. There are only 12 seats at each performance.
Running time: Approximately 100 minutes.
From Schmidt: “As you can see from the lovely red font below, most performances are sold out. There are cancellations, however. I’m considering adding more midweek shows between now and March. If you’d like to be put on a cancellations/added-shows mailing list, email me at edwardtschmidt@yahoo.com.”
All tickets: $20.
