My brother-in-law, a longtime resident of Carroll Gardens and passionate foodie, talks with an almost romantic longing about the days of Taku, a ramen noodle bar and Japanese restaurant on Smith Street. Taku‘s ramen and Japanese dishes delighted the critics but the restaurant closed in less than a year. The chef, Adam Shepard, transformed the restaurant into Lunetta, a marvelous little Italian joint in the same location, near Pacific St.
Now Brownstoner is reporting that Shepard is launching a late-night ramen bar once a month, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., starting Thursday, Dec. 2. There will be some rejoicing over this, not the least of which by my brother-in-law (shoutout to Rob!). On the menu is noodles, spicy chicken wings, and Koshihikari beer, Brownstoner reports.
