The Tale of Frankenstein's Daughter show at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange
Thurs., Oct. 13 to Sat. Oct. 29: The Tale of Frankenstein’s Daughter shows at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
The Tale of Frankenstein’s Daughter is the final, climatic production of their Year of Frankenstein. This production integrates and re-imagines the competing narratives from their earlier Frankenstein projects into a cohesive new play that honors and invigorates Mary Shelley’s classic story.
They have changed the genders of the Doctor and Creature to deepen and explore the powerful consequences and responsibilities of creation. Is Doctor Frankenstein’s crime creating her monster/daughter…or rejecting it?
The production naturally features their signature minimalism including specific physical work, innovative design, techniques from story theatre, musical elements from Kabuki theatre, two actors playing the same role, and multiple points of view. If you missed their Year of Frankenstein, come see what Brooklyn’s buzzing about.
And if you saw one or both of the first parts, don’t miss the finale…you’ll be surprised by the new direction it’s taken!
