Sat., Aug. 6: Paddle For Autism in Red Hook

For the third year in a row the Red Hook Boaters will be hosting Paddle for Autism Awareness in NYC. Come out to paddle with them in Louis Valentino Park in Red Hook. Trained instructors will be on hand to help out, so that everyone has a great day.

In addition to kayaking they will have:

Face Painting

A Bouncy Castle

Live music

Exhibits and lots more!

The Following Local Organizations Will be Benefiting From the Paddle for Autism Awareness NYC:

QSAC: Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) is an organization aimed at helping individuals on the autism spectrum in the New York City area. It was founded by a group of parents in 1978 and is now an award winning organization. Today they serve around 1,000 families. They believe that anyone should have the opportunity to become productive and independent members of society, and use innovative therapeutic techniques to help those on the autism spectrum achieve their potential.

NYCA: The New York Center for Autism was founded in 2003 to help children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. They seek to address the gaps in education, services, training, support and research related to autism spectrum disorders. In addition to working with public, private and government centers they have the NYCA Charter School. The Charter School has given students with autism spectrum disorders the opportunity to get a great education in an environment that uses innovative clinical services.
