Marie Rivière in Rohmer's Le Rayon Vert

Wed., July 20 to Tues., July 26: BAMcinématek presents this special screening in conjunction with the week-long run of Rohmer’s Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle.
In her new documentary In the Company of Eric Rohmer (En compagnie d’Eric Rohmer ), Marie Rivière, star of Rohmer’s masterpieces La Rayon vert (Summer), which she also co-wrote, The Aviator’s Wife, and An Autumn Tale, has written and directed a documentary about her friend and collaborator. Rivière follows Rohmer as he speaks with Arielle Dombasle (Pauline at the Beach), Fabrice Luchini (Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle), François Ozon and Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, among many others. Rivière herself retraces where Rohmer worked, including the locations of Le Rayon vert, and in one priceless sequence, the pair read the dialogue from that film’s last scene, all these years later, in Rohmer’s Paris office.
This screening is free for ticket holders of the 6:50 p.m. screening of Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle on Wed., July 20.
