The Legacy of Harriet Tubman

Thurs., Feb. 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: This Black History Month event will look at the legacy of Harriet Tubman and feature a talk by African American Studies Professor Tshombe Walker. Sundog Theatre actress Christine Dixon will perform a piece titled, “Harriet Tubman Herself.” A keynote address, “Celebrating Freedom,” will be delivered by Dr. Sherrill Wilson, cultural anthropologist and founding director of the Office of Public Education and Interpretation for the New York African Burial Ground, designated a National Monument in 2006.

The event also will feature a performance by the City Tech Community Choir.

This event is FREE.
