Every Sunday, 8 p.m.: Tearing the Veil of Maya. According to New York Magazine, New York comedians Eugene Mirman and Michael Showalter draw a standing-room-only crowd to the basement of Union Hall. The hosts present their favorite stand-up performers in “what’s quickly become the city’s hottest alt-comedy ticket.”

For an hour and a half, local favorites take stage with bigger names, including Sarah Silverman. Famous performers often billed as “special guests.”
