Through Sun, Jan. 2: It’s a bit confusing to pick between Nutcracker productions in NYC, if that is your holiday thing. So if you’ve missed the boat so far, don’t worry—possibly the biggest, most extravagant and grandest ballet production of all is still taking place at BAM.

With costumes and sets by a Broadway lion, you’ll get a grand spectacle of magical toy soldiers, sparkling fairies, mischievous mice, and all the enchanting inhabitants of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s whimsical world. With this, BAM is hosting the the world premiere of The American Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. Choreographed by ABT artist-in-residence Alexei Ratmansky and performed with a live orchestra, the sets and costumes were devised by Tony Award-winner Richard Hudson (The Lion King).

Ratmansky’s new version of Tchaikovsky’s classic features more than 100 performers. Ticket prices run from $20 to $135.
