Sonic Treats 2: Elvis. Cults. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

By Lisa M. Collins

Welcome to Sonic Treats, our exclusive online music show hosted by siblings Kossouth and Reggie Bradford, in which they review the best in music with a slant towards the Brooklyn music scene, all in less than three minutes.

This week’s Sonic Treats introduces you to classic American recordings by Elvis, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with Nashville’s top bluegrass and country singers of 1972, and Bedford-Stuyvesant’s 1960s-era Richie Havens, as well as an addictive new album by Brooklyn band the Cults.

The Bradford Bros are a treasure trove of music knowledge, with fans following their eclectic musical tastes across the country. Reggie has worked for MTV and in music production and recording studios, and Kossouth is just flat-out obsessed with good tunes. So follow along for tips on great albums, music stores and upcoming live music events.
